I like to think about what life would be like if:

1.I was born in 1948.
2.Weed was legal.
3.I didn't live in America.
4.There was no such thing as money.
5.People didn't change.

old friends

I keep running into the same old couple, I don't actually think they are a "couple", just old people who like to go everywhere on the CTA together. They look like they're 80, and they are what I always pictured old people to be. I ran into them at the Pulaski stop, and the old lady told the old man to hurry up, and the old man in his grumpy, but not actually grumpy voice said "I'm right behind you". I saw them at seven in the morning on the kedzie bus, they ran after a bus that was leaving, the old man waved his cane and the old lady yelled "wait for us!!". Another time the old man kept trying to rest his eyes, but the old lady kept trying to tell hims stuff, so he would just go mmhhmm and close his eyes again. It was probably one of the cutest things in the world. The old man always has a cane, and the old lady always has a plastic shopping bag, they both have the same boots, and the same green gloves. The old man has a black and white beaded neck card holder, and the old lady has a blue one. They dress like hipsters, or hipsters dress like them.

harold washington college

I only have class 2 and a half days a week.
I have ridiculously long 5 hour break between classes.
I have gotten used to waking up whenever I feel like it.
I forgot how to pay attention.
I like that teachers like to end class early.
I like that teachers like to cancel class.
I have a pregnant teacher.
I haven't been in a class with more than two Jose's in years.
I have accidentally gone on the coffee diet.
I love my UPASS, makes it all worth it.
I don't think I'll make any new friends on my own, only by association.
I don't know how I feel about this.

11.22.2009

i went back in my journal. i don't know what it means. and i don't remember writing it.

shy line of being plain
playing on our feel and on my own.
maneuver through your words, and nice around the way the fractals grow.
don't stray. I should finally get around to write my static words. I don't know, I just wrote what I heard, sometimes in my head, sometimes in my hand. the browns and grays are nowhere found, what did I do today? same, but the days are invisible through the waves of amber grains. will you, for our own? this is a ridiculous slant, protractor measurement please. introduce them to the basics so the end results are satisfying. don't use that word, you don't know how to spell it. music, video, shaky hands, illegible formality, I was trying to feel the beat.

it's a good thing existential breakdowns aren't contagious.

i wish we didn't forget all the tiny details.
i wish everything i did felt like the first time.
i wish we still lived in our imaginations.
i wish i could go to the desert.

Feliz Navidad

we only come out at night

hit me.

this song is magic to my ears and to my new hat.

in no particular order, the past 12 hours have consisted of a few things: the sort of sunrise, ugly singing, the point, calm water, the winter solstice, pretty snowflakes, an abandoned church, awkward sleeping positions, a pull top tin can with three 19 year olds inside, tripping over cats, laying on the street, old ladies hugging old men in the middle of the street, bumping & jumping, thirteen, and a couple walks around the block.
